There's a softness here that comes from letting go, from allowing the trees to blur across the cityscape until neither one dominates. I was wandering through Charlottenburg when the light started to shift, blue settling over everything. I moved my camera through the vertical lines of the trees, and they pulled across the frame like brushstrokes, like something between photograph and painting. The greens of the canopy melt into the yellows of urban light, and beneath it all, that deep blue holds everything together. Regung means motion, but also stirring, an inner movement. I think that's what I was after. Not the sharpness of seeing but the feeling of being inside a moment as it changes, when the natural world and the built world occupy the same breath. The colors transition without edges, without insistence. It asks nothing from you except maybe to slow down.
