Standing on the rocky precipice in Sliema, looking out over the Mediterranean, I felt something calling me. Malta had drawn me in from the moment I first heard of it, and there on that sun-warmed coast, I found what I'd been seeking: the Għajn, the eye. Through layered exposures, I let the stone, water, and light merge into something between seeing and being seen, a quiet presence emerging from the landscape itself.
The colors are the island's own: soft Mediterranean blue blurring into warm beige stone, golden yellow where the sun meets rock. The longer I look, the more the watching seems to run both ways, as if the coast had an eye of its own. It's the kind of abstract that opens up slowly and never quite resolves, which I've come to think is the point.

How GħAjn was made
Created through multiple exposures, the photograph layers stone, water, and light into an abstract coastal presence. The technique lets the scene feel both specific to Sliema and slightly dreamlike, as if the landscape is looking back.

What is your return policy?
