Saint-Sauveur-sur-Tinée

Alpes-Maritimes  ·  2026

Saint-Sauveur sits in the Tinée valley, and arriving from the ridge villages above, the change is immediate. The sky opens up and the river is right there, running clear and fast beside the road.

Something about the Tinée and the lower light gave everything a particular lushness. After a weekend on the ridge it was a good contrast.

The old quarter is compact and easy to walk, narrow paths between walls painted in the colours you find in this part of France. The afternoon light was coming through the lanes when we arrived and doing the place a lot of favours.

These photographs are available as fine art prints.
