2. What Data is Collected and Why
Contact form
When you use the contact form on this website, the following data is collected: your name, email address, and the content of your message. If you select an inquiry type, that is also recorded.
This data is used solely to respond to your enquiry. It is not used for marketing, shared with third parties for commercial purposes, or used for any purpose beyond handling your message.
The legal basis for this processing is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR (processing necessary to take steps at your request prior to entering a contract) and, where applicable, Article 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent, given via the checkbox on the form).
Server logs
Like most websites, this site's hosting provider (Vercel) automatically logs basic technical data when you visit a page: your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and the time of your request. These logs are used for security and infrastructure purposes only and are not linked to your identity. Vercel's privacy policy is available at vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.
3. Third-Party Processors
Contact form submissions are processed by Formspree, Inc. (formspree.io), a US-based service. Formspree receives the data you submit via the contact form and forwards it to the email address of the data controller. By submitting the form, you acknowledge that your data will be transferred to and processed in the United States.
Formspree is GDPR-compliant and provides a Data Processing Agreement (DPA). You can review their privacy policy at formspree.io/legal/privacy-policy.
4. Data Retention
Contact form submissions are retained for up to 24 months, after which they are deleted or anonymised. If your enquiry leads to an ongoing business relationship, relevant correspondence may be kept for as long as necessary for that purpose.
5. Cookies
This website uses a cookie to store your cookie consent preference. This is a functional cookie and does not track you or collect personal data beyond recording your choice. No analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies are set without your prior consent.
6. Your Rights
Under the GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right of access — you can request a copy of the data held about you.
- Right to rectification — you can ask for inaccurate data to be corrected.
- Right to erasure — you can ask for your data to be deleted, subject to legal retention requirements.
- Right to restriction — you can ask for processing to be restricted in certain circumstances.
- Right to data portability — you can request your data in a machine-readable format.
- Right to object — you can object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Right to withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
- Right to lodge a complaint — you have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, contact mail@markusgreenphoto.com.
